1) No other way we must start being more community oriented

2) Setup different somali institutions:

not the hundreds and hundreds of dugsis but somali culture and language institutions that teach kids from a very young age grammar and basics of our language using interactive methods. Just like the greeks, turks, arabs etc.. do well some of them

3) Make these institutions like schools:

so that whenever a parent drops off their child the teachers and workers in these institutions only speak somali wear cultural attire as required (just like wearing khamis for dugsi) then we can teach these kids from a very young age what it means to be somali. Just like how your parents hopefully used to say "Facaa hakaharin Hooyo" whenevr u got karbashed by other kids.

Teach them not to glorify any western materials and pump them with as much somalinimo as possible from the time they are dropped off to the time they have to leave so that when they go home we encourage their parents to speak somali with them thereby drilling the language in their heads.

4) Make it exciting:

Here is where the Somali community will have to be present by that i mean, setup community fun activities. Not the usual events where some adults gather around for some music dhaanto etc and call it a day, but something big that only happens once a year maybe around eid free for all somalis and paid for by the "somali organisation of something" that will be based in the west and will be multinational

These are huge steps im proposing and may seem like what is the point of them but time is running out and think of all the somali households who just go about their days with no regard for what the little ones are thinking or watching.

We can atleast try saving one generations' connection to dhulka hooyo or well find somali john barre in the future .

Ive been saying this for years, in my city greek and Asians have held on to their culture and languages, but you know Somalis are damn lasy, ive complained to elders and somali groups but honestly they dont care, Elders are confused about how to go about it and the young dont find it as interesting as a "fun day" so they and the boys can get a bag and look at some ass... :farmajoyaab:

The only way to save Somali culture is to follow it. We are a coastal people and need to live away from others. We trade with everyone but live in isolation. By establishing coastal cities globally, we can easily connect with one another. Returning to this path is how we protect our people from losing the dhaqan.
My dad never saw the ocean until he left his village tho.

You want to save Somali culture, move back home. The kids who are born and raised in the west are the products of this environment.

What even is Somali culture?

Is it the Langauge? Then you can just teach it to your kids or find someone to do it.
Religion? Follow your deen with your wife/husband and you'll have no problems

You can visit Somalia once in a while as well to remind your kids of their roots and get them to give back to their people in some capacity by volunteering/helping development.

What makes us Somali is our lineage, we can live anywhere in the planet and keep our culture alive just by raising our children correctly

Also, take the initiative on your own to learn Somali mores. I taught myself how to read and write in Somali (work in progress thus far). My next step is to learn gabay, suugan, etc. I always admire folks who can recite poems hundreds of years old by heart. I want to do the same.

does authentic somali culture even exist anymore? a lot of whats considered "somali" culture is of foreign origin (mainly from arabia) not much of authentic somali culture has been preserved which is why many somalis suffer from an identity crisis and uphold cultural practices created by arabs, why put the spotlight on western somalis when somalis in somalia have done a piss poor job preserving somali culture?

Life is too short to give a shit about what Somalis in the west are doing, you will give yourself headache and waste time.@SomaliP.Commitee, don’t give your self a headache because it’s futile. It’s best if you focus on yourself, family and close ones around you.
