Are Tigrays divided into clans like the rest? Are y'all different from Tigrinya?
What's with the dots lmao. Ahaha. Anyway. Tigrinya is our language. Tigrayan is the tribe. Tigray is the region. We don't do the clan thing... Unless we are talking about the distinction between tigre of eritrea who also speak Tigrinya.

The last page has bugs, you have to post to see what the others have wrote. So you are telling me that Tigrays don't have clans? How is a Tigre different from a Tigray? Y'all the same or different ethnicities?

Not in the traditional sense no. We do not have clans that I am aware of. And the only differences are the geopolitics associated ethiopia and eritrea in the advent of weyane tigray-eritrea marxist lenninist liberation front. I am from a town bordering on the region between eritrea and ethiopia and the distinction are negligible at best; eclipsed mostly by blind chauvinism.

That is really weird! If you speak the same language and are one people divided by birder then why the difference in name;Tigre and Tigrays?

😂 Phew that would require a history lesson which I myself am not completely aware of in its entirety. But we would have to acknowledge the difference between tigrinya of tigray and tigrayit of tigre.. it can best be described as a sociocultural node seperated over a period of time by various political and ethnolinguistic barriers which developed independently with common origin.

If you ask me as a student of biological anthropology and an Ethiopian national I say yes, if you ask them as a self-determinist they'll say no. It's all semantics, really. No different than Somali snacks from somaliland vs somalia and the respective tribes therein. People would like to distinguish themselves by nationality as though this somehow makes us taxonomically distinct but the reality is different. Sorry that took a moment to respond the reply went into my spam folder lol.
