Electric cars are the future, which means fossil fuel-based engines are on their way out. I feel sorry for the Somalis who thought the people of Somalia could get rich by auctioning those oil and gas fields in its continental shelf.

Not realistic. Not every country can mobilise and move on from gas and oil. Oil has many other by products and uses. We can never fully replace crude oil.

They already tried in Germany and failed. It's not a feasible.

Every major industrialized nation is gradually shifting to electric cars. That would only translate to less need for oil, which will bring its price value down. In 40 years time, it seems oil dependency will be brought to a minimum and won't be different than what coal is today.

Will the big oil companies allow for a quick smooth transition?

Those are the questions you really have to ask.

There is a movement in the US that wants to move to renewable energy and less fossil fuel. And with the Democrats poised to seize power come in November 2020, sure more funding will be allocated to that sector. Besides, all of the Democrat-run states in the US, plus major European, Turkish, and Chinese are all pursuing electric cars. I bought shares in this compny, https://www.blinkcharging.com/, and while it is still dirt cheap, it is really picking up in this tough economy. Keep in mind to produce oil and natural gas in Somalia, it'll at least take a decade. So my personal recommendations to Somali leaders would've been to focus on and invest in other sectors in the economy than fossil fuel.

Fyi, California is the 6th largest economy in the world, and it is already decided to move into that direction.
