Somali forums, CIA, and Operation Mockingbird

Its no secret that the media, and popular culture are, and has always been shaped (at least in the west) in a way to cater to the main ideology, and values that the specific government wishes to be foundational in their country. Im sure you've experienced this on a lower scale in some social group setting (class etc.) where there always seems to be an collective ideolgy/niche (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), and that everyone adheres to, and any outlier is rejected. Not only rejected but directly reprimanded.

Now there is no reason to be overly skeptical, and hysterious about the matter. Sure there will always be a range of personalities in said forum, but sometimes when this personality is first of all an outlier of the majority, second of all is unnecessarily persistent in their "agenda", and last when the same kind of "persona" are being directly promoted in the forum an level of concern should arise.

Operation Mockingbird is in a nutshell the government hiring people to play an persona on an online forum. This persona is advocating for liberal values, and in the same time humiliating, and being condescending to the majority ideology as an tactic to sweep peoples opinions. Infiltrating peoples collective ideas in the forum, as in that way you would in the span of alot of years create ideological change. Its also referred to as "grassroot activism."

Now im sure alot of bells are ringing in your head as to which forum im referring to, and its no secret that do have alot of "personas" (wont mention names, but it shouldn't be a mystery) who in my eyes at least at times felt too "cadaan", but i always brushed it off. Their constant islam bashing, total disrespect, and disregard for somali culture did make a lot of members worried back in that in fact they may not be somali at all. The users who dared to speak up about it got banned with no explanation back in the summer of 2017 (aka the downhill of ) while the same personas got promoted to being mods etc. more priveliges.

In a short of amount of time we even saw what the implication for this was. Alot of young somalis joining sspot, to become confused as to whether islam is the truth or not. Gaalnimo is only the rise on .

got exposed one time for being an middleaged bald cadaan man living in Aurora, Texas on discord long time ago, some other member got exposed too for being an cadaan too. And lets not even mention Vixen who even got called out and dared to reply in somali failed to do so, and so many others in that forum.
